Hanging with Thing from Fantastic Four
The amazing world of Marvel comics really fired my imagination. Starting in the early seventies I was obsessed with everything Marvel did: The Amazing Spiderman, Thor, Hulk, and of course, the Fantastic Four. Looking at those black and white panels by artists like Steve Ditko, John Romita and Jack Kirby was an escape into another world. Not only were the stories by Stan Lee so fantastic, I remember endlessly drawing—forever trying to emulate the work of the great Marvel artists. I guess I never did manage it. But what the hell, now I am hanging with the Fantastic Four legend, The Thing!
